Pioneer in wood pellet industry - Austria RZ pellet company
RZ pellet Ltd is a pioneer in the Austria pellet industry. The company has developed into the largest producer in Austria with 10 years pellet production experience, which accounts for nearly 1/3 of the country's output.
RZ pellet Ltd has a wood processing company in Austria and runs 10 cogeneration heat-supplying plants. The company has four pellet production bases in Austria with a total annual comprehensive production capacity of 250-280 thousand tons.
Located in a medieval town of Ybbs an der Donau, 120 kilometers west of Vienna, RZ pellet Ltd established the first pellet plant in 2004, as a part of joint project on an innovative third-party integrated energy, which has a connection of mass and energy flow. Adjacent to the largest sawmill in central Europe, which belongs to Stora Enso company, the giant of forest industry. About 1 million cubic meters of spruce lumber, characteristic construction timber products and plane goods are processed here every year.
The sawmill supplies sawdust and shavings to the pellet plant and bark and wood chips to Heizkraftwerk Ybbs biomass limited company, the pellet plant which 30 MWth cogeneration (CHP) power plant of RZ pellet Ltd is adjacent to. The residues from Stora Ensos company is then transmitted directly to each recipient. In return, the cogeneration power plant provides heat to the sawmill, including dry kiln and the heating network of Ybbs region. Power is supplied to the power grid.
The wet sawdust from the saw mill will be sent to silo of 2000 cubic meters for intermediate storage. There is a belt drier of 25 meters starting from here. The afterheat discharged from the flue gas is used for heating the dryer to 95-100℃. The drying process takes about 30 minutes to reduce the moisture content from about 55% to 10%. Wood shavings with moisture content of 8% or so would be sent into a separate silo of 2000 cubic meters. Sawdust in the dryer and wood shavings in the silo will be sent to one of the pulverizers through the magnetic separator. Add corn starch if necessary, and add water in the pulverizer.
We add less than 1% of corn starch to increase the durability, as 80% of the products is transported by a bulk truck.
Pellets of 6mm are produced by one of the four pellet mills. Products would be sent to the adjusting chamber, then moved to the bulk silo or bagging line.

According to the prediction of Transparency Market Research, a market research firm, the global wood pellet market for power plants and heating will grow by 14.1% per year to 20073 million Euros by 2023.
