There are several ways we can use during choosing biomass pellet fuel 

1. Inspect the color, lightness, purity, ash content after consumption of pellet and the types of raw materials. Sawdust pellet and straw pellets mostly has slight yellow color or brown; the purity shows the pelleting effect. The better the pelleting effect, the longer the length is. The less the powder material, the higher class the pellet are. The less ash content of biomass pellet fuel after burning means the purity of the raw materials and the good quality of the pellets. Ash content of pure sawdust biomass pellet fuel is only 1% which has lest ash content. The ash content of straw biomass pellet fuel is a little bit much and ash content of garbage pellet fuel is the highest, which is up to 30% and its quality is the worst. In addition, many factories add lime, French chalk and other impurities in the pellet in order to save the cost. Ash content of the good quality pellet has white color after burning. The better the pellet quality, the higher the lightness has. 

2. Smell the pellet. Because there is no addictive in the process of biomass pellet fuel, most of the pellet keep the original smell of the raw materials. Sawdust pellet has the  wood fragrance, various kinds of straw pellet has the unique smell of straw. 

3. Consult to the producer and supplier of material for pellet fuel.

4. Touch the pellet by hand and distinguish the pellet quality. Use your hand to touch the pellet, and the smooth surface, no cracking, no broken and high density means the good quality of pellets and bad quality pellet has rough surface, clear cracking, much powdery materials and crushed by hand pinch .
